StoryMakers On Location: NY Comic Con!

New York Comic Con is the East Coast’s largest pop-culture convention showcasing the latest and greatest in comics, novels, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies and television shows. Panels, booths and autograph sessions give fans a chance to meet their favorite media stars and see their latest creations!

On this episode of StoryMakers On Location, host Rocco Staino interviews Stacy King, Delia Sherman, Box Brown, John Patrick Green, Rebecca Mock and Scott Westerfeld! Stacy King chatted about manga classics: classic novels revamped into manga! Stacy believes that adapting classics to manga will help spark interest in classics for young readers.

I didn’t grow up with comic books, rather comic stripes. I’ve enjoyed Ziggy, Peanuts, Pearls Before Swine, B.C., and Get Fuzzy to name a few.

Sunday comics! Garfield was my favorite, along with peanuts my oldest child enjoys graphic novels, though, and I’ve read a few for YA that I didn’t mind!
